Update

As I'm sure you would have noticed by now, I have not been blogging for a very long time. Mainly because I cheated so much it got hard to follow the diet.

Since not being on the diet I have eaten so much junk. Well, thinking of it I probably ate 90% junk. So needless to say, I've picked up most of the weight I've lost. I stopped half way through my weight loss phase and never ate oat bran again. Not sure why because I actually do like oat bran.

So, as I'm now fat again I'm starting the diet again. I'm trying to get very organised first so I don't get to the stage where it is just too hard. I've made some Bran free wraps (like a fluffy thin omelet). This is to wrap cottage cheese and other things in for an easy on the go kinda meal. I layered it baking paper, wrap, baking paper etc. Then wrapped it in plastic and put it in the freezer. I also made some bread rolls and cottage pie. I'll make some muffins too. All to be frozen, ready for the cruise phase.
I also stocked up on the allowed yogurts & cottage cheese and some canned chicken and tuna. And I'll have some boiled eggs ready in the fridge. So there should be no reason not to stick to the diet.

I have however decided to follow the diet only where possible and not think of the bad days as cheats as I think this put me in the wrong frame of mind last time. If I feel like it's part of the diet I might (I hope) stick to the diet.

So here I go again.

Good luck on your journey on the Dukan diet & may you have successful weight loss.

Days 39 - 59 - Dukan Diet Cruise Phase

Wow, How slack have I been...

I am still following the diet (with lots of cheats). I do my best to follow the diet, eat Dukan friendly food 90% of the time, but I don't stress when I go to friends' for dinner as I know I'll be back to Dukan the next day. And so far I'm very happy with the weight I have lost.

In week 5 of Cruise I fell completely off the wagon. I baked the kids some Condensed Milk cookies which was sooooo good. I ate 10 (yes that's right - I felt sick afterwards). Then the next day we had Pork Spare ribs & chips and so on. It continued for 5 days. Naughty Naught Naughty.

My husband decided to join me on the Dukan diet so I did 5 days of PP after that mishap and he did his 3 days of Attack.

Since then we both have been fairly good. The worst being when we went to a friends place for dinner where we both ate potato bake, sausages, crackers & cheese, etc. I also had two little glasses of red wine.

Today is day 58 on Dukan diet for me and I have TWO birthday parties to go to. Oh boy I know this is going to be such a bad day. BUT I'm not stressing about it, because it will only slow my weight loss and I'll be back to Dukan Diet tomorrow. I think a cheat day every now and then is okay as long as you get back to the diet the very next day. That way I don't feel like I'm missing out & I still loose weight.

My weight loss for the 5th week on Cruise (the very bad one!) was 600g. Pretty amazing compared to what I ate, but I'm very excited about it.

Week 6 wasn't so kind and I only lost 300g even though most of that week was PP. Ohh well, such is life. Keep going and maybe next week is better.

Week 7 (of which I still have today and tomorrow left) is looking good so far. My starting weight was 83kg and this morning I weighed 81.3kg. So maybe my scale was out at the end of last week.

I am so happy with the 11.1kg I have lost to date in 57 days since starting the Dukan diet. Thank you Dr Pierre Dukan.

As a treat for reaching the half way mark I had a massage, foot scrub, facial, hand massage, haircut, hair treatment and blowdry. Even got some basic makup put on afterwards. Wow that was three hours of bliss.

Days 32 - 38 - Dukan Diet Cruise Phase

Wow, another week on the Dukan diet. Can't believe I've done more than 5 weeks already. It has been fairly easy, but I am starting to want the sweeter things in life. My other big crave is bread. I love baking fresh bread and it is really hard not to eat any when it's still nice and warm...

This week start weight was 85.1kg and end weight 83.9kg. This is a loss of 1.2kg for the week and a total loss of 8.5kg. Wow it's fantastic to now starting to fit into some old clothes.

As I'm starting to crave the sweeter things I'm trying all sorts of new recipes (mainly ones I'm trying to adjust from non Dukan friendly ones). But I haven't had much success.

My cheat diary:
D32 - Coles Chicken Meat Loaf - didn't like it so I won't get it again
D33 - Shallow fried fish (hubby just doesn't know how to cook without oil)
D34 - Breakfast at our fav cafe, which should be okay except for the oil it is cooked in. I also had an Atkins Choc Decadence Bar
D35 - I was really good. No cheats
D36 - Another good day. No cheats
D37 - Atkins Choc Dec Bar, Coles Beef Meatloaf. I felt a little sick today so hardly ate anything. I only had half the oat bran for today.
D38 - Well today I fell of the wagon! I made the kids some condensed milk cookies and ate a lot of it myself. It was sooo yummy but really buttery and sweet. The only ingredients is condensed milk, sugar, butter and flour. Plus whatever you want to mix in. I did dark and white choc chips, milo and coconut, crushed peppermint crisp chocolate. Wow by night time I felt sick from all this junk. The only real food I ate today was fish & vegetables (cooked by hubby so covered in oil. LOL) I love when he catches fish & that he cooks it too! He's so good even though I make his ears burn because he came back from fishing at 1.30pm and was supposed to be home by 11am so he could spend time with the kids.

It seems that the bad things I eat only shows its weight two days later so Sunday's cookies will probably only show on Tuesday. So I think I'll have to do lots of excercise on Monday to make up for this slip up.

Days 25 - 31 - Dukan Diet Cruise Phase

Start weight for week 3 on Cruise was 86.9kg. End weight was 85.1kg. This is a loss of 1.8kg for the week and a total of 7.3kg since starting the Dukan diet a month ago. I am very happy with the weight loss and the ease of following the diet.

I am starting to crave more than just the savoury bits of the diet. I'm trying all sorts of sweet things. My fav is the easy cheesecake and chocolate oat bran muffins. These muffins are great for the days that I'm at work as I can eat 4-6 of these depending on how big they are. This means I can eat almost all day and not even feel like I'm on a diet. Yummo!

I am also cheating lots lately with the Atkins Choc Decadence Bars (about two a week).

My naughtiness for the week:

Day 26 - Atkins Choc Decadence Bar
Day 27 - Scrambled eggs & one bite of sourdough toast at Ona - my son insisted he share with me
Day 28 - Hubby took me out for lunch and I had fried calamari that wasn't crumbed but rather just coated in cornflour and spices/herbs. This was really really nice. I'll have it again for sure.
Day 29 - Atkins Choc Decadence Bar
Day 30 - I've planned this cheat day for weeks now so I didn't feel guilty about eating. It was a friend's son's 3rd birthday party and I had cake. Not once but three times. LOL it was soooo yummy. She was kind enought to have served carrot sticks and boiled eggs too so I didn't even feel left out whilst others ate the chips & fruit. Oh I did also have a chicken sausage that would have been a bit naughty but after three serves of cake who cares....
Day 31 - Hubby came home with warm White Choc & Macadamia cookies from Subway. How good was that. I ate half a cookie.
I also tried out a Meat Loaf from Coles that was pre-made and ready for the oven. The nutritional info didn't look too bad so I ate it freely. It was much better than a meat loaf I made a couple of weeks ago.

After all this naughtiness I still lost 1.8kg for the week. Hope it doesn't show up on the scales in a few days. That wouldn't be very nice but I sort of expect it to.

I cycled to the birthday party so I could burn off some calories from the cake.
Day

Days 18 - 24 - Dukan Diet Cruise Phase

Wow, has it really been this long since I posted my progress on the Dukan diet? Naughty me for being so slack...

Week 2 on the Cruise Phase was a little up and down weight wise. I started at 87.2kg and my end of week weight was 86.9kg. Which is a loss of 300g for the week and a total of 5.5kg. Still pretty good though!

I did cheat a little:
Day 18 - Atkins Choc Decadence Bar (my fav cheat)
Day 20 - Couple of licks of Choc Ice Cream (licking my fingers when handling the boys' ice creams), I also had breakfast at my fav cafe (Ona in Coolangatta). As it was a PV day I had, scrambled eggs, mushroom, tomato and onion. All this would've been cooked in oil or butter.
Day 21 - Atkins Choc Decadence Bar
Day 22 - We went to our local Surf Club and had roast beef served with vegetables, mashed potato and covered in gravy. I only had one bite of the potato and scratched off as much of the gravy as possible. So really not too bad a cheat meal.
Day 23 & 24 - PP both days to make up for my naughtiness

Overall I didn't think it was too bad a week, but the weight loss wasn't fantastic. My scales are a bit buggered too so I'll just blame it. Sometimes it gives me as much as 2kg difference. I usually just take an average then. LOL. Not the best way but it sort of works for me. As long as I never see that 90kg mark again.

I also haven't been drinking more than just the required amount of liquids.

Exercise wise I've started using the bike about once or twice a week. Depending on the weather. As I have the boys on a trailer thingy behind me it's not ideal to go when it's raining or too cold.

Days 11 - 17 - Dukan Diet Cruise Phase

Wow, I finally got to the Dukan Diet Cruise Phase. I thought it was relatively easy to do the Attack Phase and wasn't really looking forward to introduce vegetables. I think it was mainly because I now have to really think about what to cook. Before I could cook the family a meal they really enjoyed but from now on they will have to eat a Dukan friendly meal. So I suppose it will be trial and error until I find something they really like.

For the rest of the diet I will put up a weekly blog rather than a daily one. The weight loss should be about a kilo a week from what I've read on other websites so rather than weighing every day, I'd be looking at the overall weight loss for the week.

With a total weight loss of 3.6kg for the Attack Phase, I'm motivated to loose the rest. I can already feel some clothes fitting better and my tummy has definitely shrunk a little.

Starting weight on Cruise was 88.8kg. On the morning of Day 17 I weighed 87.8kg, which is a loss of 1kg for the first week on Cruise and a total weight loss of 4.6kg.

I started eating what is allowed on the Dukan diet, but with friends over for dinner twice this week and having gone to the Cooly Rocks On festival, I have been naughty. So instead of listing what I've eaten for the week, I'd rather tell you the bad stuff I ate.

On day 13 I roasted chicken drumsticks vegetables (pumpkin, potato & carrot). I couldn't resist the potato and had three small ones. Despite this I still lost 400g that day.

Day 14 was a PP day and I pretty much stuck to the diet (just in case those potatoes only show it's weight today)

Day 15 was a really bad PV day. I had all good intentions making pumpkin soup to take with me to playgroup, as everybody has some morning tea there and I usually just sit there not eating anything. Playgroup got cancelled so we decided to go to the Cooly Rocks On festival. I forgot my lunch bag in the car and didn't realise until we got to the other side of town. So we decided to have lunch somewhere. I ordered savoury mince and egg, but the savoury mince would have had lots of bad stuff in it.
Then we had friends over for a fish stir fry and prawns. Hubby cooked and briefly forgot that I can't have most of the stuff (like the sauce and noodles and some of the vegetables). I didn't want to be rude so I ate a medium sized portion of the lot. I know - very very naughty. I was good enough not to have the garlic bread, but did have a tiny little bit of the berry pie for desert. I made some Meringue cakes and cheesecake for my desert & explained that I'm on a diet and couldn't eat the pie and ice cream. Rude I know but I have been naughty enough.
So after Day 15 I expected to pick up at least 500g, but somehow, I still lost 100g. All that walking must have been enough to cancel out the extra calories.

Day 16 was meant to be a PP day but I had some leftover pumpkin soup and was planning a beef stroganoff for the family so decided I'll just go one more PV and balance it out over the fortnight.
Oops, I gained 200g because of that, but decided it won't get me down because of the overall weight loss for the week still being on track.

Today, Day 17 and the last day of the first week on Cruise will be a PP day and I will be very good. It's raining and I don't know what I'll do for exercise but I'm thinking of going to the shopping centres for a browse. Not brisk walking but I'm sure it's better than nothing.

I still have not felt like I've been on a diet as far as headaches & tiredness goes, but did have a slight headache the morning after having the stir fry.

With nearly a quarter of my excess weight lost, I'm ready for the rest.

Day 10 - Dukan Diet Attack Phase

Weight this morning was 89.0kg. A loss of 200g and a total weight loss of 3.4kg

With another 200g off this morning it just confirms that the scales must have been wrong two days ago. Or I'm also starting to think it could be the salt on those sneaky chips I had. I might retain water because of that! If I loose weight suddenly during the first few days of Cruise, we'll know that that is the reason. Time will tell

Waking up this morning I actually feel like vegetables, so maybe all that thinking about vegetables yesterday prepared me for my first PV day. I am almost tempted to start PV today but is put off by the fact that I then will have a PV day at work and I don't want that. PP is much easier.

Today I had:
-3 x Coffee with skim milk
-1 x Chai tea with skim milk
-2 litres water
-1/2 glass diet lemon fizzy drink
-1 x Warm Cocoa Fudge (one serve of Oat Bran)
-3 x slices 97% fat free Roast Beef
-3 x teaspoons lite creamed Cottage Cheese
-10 little Meringue Cakes (half plain & half with chocolate essence & cinnamon)
-2 very lean beef burger patties with a cottage cheese/balsamic vinegar/mustard/parsley sauce
-3 slices Meatloaf with the above mentioned sauce

Today I felt like sneaking in some of the kid's mini double chocolate muffins/cakes I made, but only had a tiny taste to see if it tasted okay. I used a gluten free muffin mix but with all that chocolate it looked more like a cake.

Tomorrow is my first PV day. I'm going to make a beef roast in the slowcooker. I've never done this so lets hope I don't stuff this one up.
